Mumbai, Oct 22: upGrad, Asia’s higher education and upskilling company, today announced the rebranding of its network of Learning Support Centres as upGrad X – the offline Xperience, marking a significant step in its vision to build an employability engine for India.

upGrad's Offline Network Rebrands as upGrad X, Bets Big on Being an Employability Engine in the Era of Layoffs

The rebrand marks a sharper mandate for the network — moving beyond academic support to focus on career-linked learning, practical skills and employment outcomes. At a time when layoffs dominate headlines across sectors, upGrad X is demonstrating the potential of an outcome-led employability model. Over the last three quarters, upGrad X has facilitated 500+ placements across sectors, including e-commerce, data analytics, AI-native businesses, IT services and Global Capability Centres.

The placement track record reinforces the evolving role of upGrad X centres — not simply as physical classrooms, but as career launchpads that bring together hands-on training, mentorship, peer learning, industry exposure and career preparation. The centres are designed to help bridge the gap between the skills learners have and those employers increasingly seek.

As the network expands across cities, upGrad X is bringing career-focused learning closer to where learners live and work. Each centre combines a physical learning environment with upGrad’s digital ecosystem, offering in-person mentorship, proctored assessments and programmes designed around industry readiness.

As part of this evolution, upGrad X is also broadening its programme portfolio across Data, Tech, AI and Marketing, while adding the Certification in Global & Investment Banking Operations for learners looking to build careers in finance, banking and investment operations.

Mr. Pamit Anand, CEO, upGrad X, said

“India's employability gap runs across every discipline, and AI is widening it. Technical skills will matter, but so will judgment, trust and accountability, especially in fields like AI, finance and banking. Employers need people who are ready to work from day one. That is the gap upGrad X is built to close. We are moving from a learning centre to an employability engine: hands-on training, mentorship and career preparation, all tied to placement outcomes. Over 500 placements in three quarters show the model works. With a growing network and new programmes like AI Pro and Certification in Global & Investment Banking Operations (CGIBO), our direction is clear: career-linked learning delivered via short-duration skilling programs & focus on job-readiness”
