Chandigarh, 22 October 2026: Cinépolis India has announced a partnership with Saga Studios to acquire and distribute Punjabi films in India and overseas markets. Under this collaboration, Cinépolis India will lead theatrical distribution across India, while Seven Colors will drive international theatrical releases. The partnership will initially focus on Punjabi cinema, with plans to expand into other regional languages and support multilingual film releases across a wider audience base.

As part of the collaboration, Cinépolis India and Saga Studios will jointly acquire film titles, with Cinépolis India overseeing their theatrical distribution across India. In the region, Cinépolis India currently operates 29 screens across key markets in the region, including Chandigarh, Amritsar, Mohali, Ludhiana, and Bathinda.

Speaking about the partnership, Devang Sampat, Managing Director, Cinépolis India, said: "Regional films have been some of the steadiest business in our cinemas, and Punjabi cinema has a very loyal audience. With Saga, we get involved from the acquisition stage and can plan releases across India. Punjabi is where we start, and we'll follow it with multilingual releases in other languages”

Cinepolis India currently has 496 screens across 57 cities in the country.

Sumeet Singh, Managing Director, Saga Studios, said: "Punjabi cinema has evolved tremendously over the years, and today its stories have an audience far beyond Punjab and India. Our association with Cinepolis is a significant step towards giving Punjabi films the theatrical scale and global visibility they truly deserve. At Saga Studios, our vision has always been to take Punjabi stories to wider audiences, and this partnership allows us to build a stronger bridge between Punjabi cinema and the global theatrical market. We believe this is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for Punjabi cinema."
