27th March 2025: Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies & Research (VESIM) recently hosted Glimpses – Canvas of Dreams, a vibrant cultural event organised by the Student Welfare Committee (SWC). With over 100 talented students participating in the event, it provided a dynamic platform for showcasing artistic talents in fashion and sustainability, singing, dancing, and performing arts. Designed to foster confidence, self-expression, and cultural appreciation, Glimpses was a true celebration of creativity, engagement, and team spirit. Adding to the festivity, renowned stand-up comedian Nitesh Shetty, the Guest of Honour, enthralled the audience with his sharp wit and relatable humor. His engaging performance elevated the event beyond a traditional cultural fest, leaving attendees in splits and creating an atmosphere of joy.
The event also featured an exciting lineup of sports activities, including the Fit Man and Fit Woman competition, where students showcased their dedication to fitness and wellness. Following this, the stage came alive with electrifying music and dance performances, reflecting the artistic diversity of VESIM. A highlight of the celebration was the prize distribution ceremony for Insanity, a Sports Cell initiative recognizing exceptional student achievements in athletics and fostering inter-cell collaboration.
Adding another layer of creativity and social consciousness, Glimpses also featured ECO WALK, a sustainable fashion show that emphasized innovation and responsibility in fashion. Participants in this unique segment celebrated eco-conscious practices such as recycling, upcycling, and innovative design thinking. Models confidently walked the runway in meticulously crafted outfits made from repurposed materials, showcasing breathtaking designs that blended sustainability with artistic flair. The competition, judged on creativity, eco-consciousness, and storytelling, featured standout entries, including reimagined apparel, intricate wire art, and jewelry made from recycled plastic, redefining the meaning of sustainable fashion.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Dr. Vijay T. Raisinghani, Director of VESIM, shared, “Beyond academics, cultural expressions play a pivotal role in shaping young minds, fostering creativity, and strengthening community bonds.
