Crossing 2.3 million EV sales in 2025 reflects the sector’s significant growth and its increasing impact on the future of mobility. The budget 2026 is expected to be conclusive in keeping this force going with sustained demand incentives, expedited introduction of public chargers and components manufacturing specifically towards domestic productions. To provide policy clarity and draw in long-term investment, specific and time-bound electrification goals must be established, with an emphasis on electric buses and public transport fleets. At the same time, advancing battery R&D, recycling, and localised supply chains will help lower costs, improve sustainability, and build a resilient, globally competitive EV ecosystem.
